Sandra joined the staff of St. John’s UCC in December 2011 after years of working in the church environment at Faith Methodist Church in Richmond, TX.
Sandra and her family were first day founding members of Faith Methodist Church and was the Director of Children’s Ministry. In 1995 she was the founding Chairman of the Board for Faith School for Young Children, the church sponsored preschool. She wore many hats at FSYC including that of Chairman, bookkeeper, financial manager,and Director.
In 2011 she opened Ivy Kids ELC in the Lakemont/Katy area before moving to become a staff member at St. John’s UCC.
Originally Sandra felt the call to become a teacher while in high school, but little did she know that God would call her into children’s ministry and not of the high school level, but of preschool age.
Sandra became a Chaplain for the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in 2016 with St. John’s and Rev. Daniel Haas as her sponsoring church and enjoys riding with HCSO Patrol on a weekly basis and offering support to the department deputies as well as to the general public.
Sandra enjoys reading, scrap booking, music, fostering local Rosenberg bottle baby kittens. raising Monarch and Swallowtail caterpillars into butterflies and gardening in her free time when not volunteering. Sandra’s most loved scripture-“Be still…and know that I am God”along with favorite hymn “Here I Am Lord.”
